Hosting My First Show on BIGO Live: A Journey into "Weekly JAMs with SAM🌙🐻²⁰"
Share
On January 2nd, 2025, I embarked on an exhilarating adventure as I hosted my first show for BIGO Live's FMTV Season 7. The experience was a whirlwind of emotions—nervousness, excitement, and ultimately, triumph. The show, titled "Weekly JAMs with SAM🌙🐻²⁰," airs live every Thursday between January 1st and March 31st at 4 PM PST. This first episode was all about "Feel Good Hits," and it was a journey I will never forget.
Preparing for the Big Day
In the days leading up to the premiere, I dedicated myself to meticulous preparation. I curated an hour-long playlist on Spotify, filled with songs that are guaranteed to lift spirits and bring smiles. The theme of the show was music, a universal language that I hoped would connect with viewers from all walks of life.
The Nerve-Wracking Start
As the clock ticked closer to showtime, my nerves were at an all-time high. I was apprehensive about speaking or acting like a DJ, fearing that my nerves might get the best of me. However, I found solace in my playlist. My role was simple yet profound: to play music and groove along to the tunes.
The Playlist: Feel Good Hits
The playlist featured an array of feel-good anthems, including:
- Roar by Katy Perry
- Dynamite by BTS
- All Star by Smash Mouth
- Uma Thurman by Fall Out Boy
I closed the show with a personal favorite, The Parting Glass, performed by The Wellerman and Lauren Paley. This song holds a special place in my heart and seemed the perfect way to wrap up the show.
Growing Comfort and Support
As the show progressed, my initial jitters began to fade. I started to feel more comfortable and found myself speaking more naturally. The support from my BIGO friends and my BIGO family's CEO, PapaBear, was invaluable. Their presence provided a comforting backdrop to the show.
A Successful Debut
The debut episode was a resounding success. With nearly 3,000 views in that one hour, the reception exceeded my expectations. I was also thrilled to receive around 1,500 organically gifted beans, a testament to the show's positive impact.
Looking Forward to the Next Episode
With the first episode under my belt, I'm eagerly anticipating the next one. The upcoming show will feature "Retro Hits," with classics like Dancing Queen by ABBA and Take on Me by A-ha. As always, I plan to close with The Parting Glass, this time by The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem.
Hosting "Weekly JAMs with SAM🌙🐻²⁰" has been a thrilling experience, and I can't wait to continue sharing the joy of music with all of you. Thank you for tuning in and being a part of this incredible journey!
